Reminds me of living in Sydney in the 80's.Great times! Great song by a great band .

I was 12 and I was there when they filmed this; what a day it was. Not only did it create a buz around Scarborough street but around the neighboring streets in Monterey. It's sad to see most of the houses gone. Not many people can say that part of their child hood was captured on a film clip.

i lived in one of the houses on this clip. it was no 36. i moved out in 1982 and left the country not been back since. i had some good friends mathew kelly was his nameanyone know him ?.thanks for the upload nzoz1987. anyone else lived there in 1982?

Love the moment at the end where their trying to get the dog off him and keep holding the scene at the same time lol

a highly underated band, these guys are an awsome aussie band, love em.

I will always like this tune.
It kept me sane whilst sailing in the Gulf.....In the hanger we had a stereo, and when we played this tune (almost every day, for 6 months) it would always put a smile on my dial.

I remember seeing this vid on the chart show in the uk in the 80's and really enjoying it (it seemed old fashioned then) and I still do, many thanks for a high quality post
-
@Doppelfrog it's in San Souci in Scarborough st :)

Thanks for the great memory. I love The Mentals. Simple, happy music and such a great bunch of blokes. I saw them again a couple of years back on Mt Tamborine in a small show at a restaurant overlooking the Great Dividing Range to the west on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Only Greedy and Martin were left from the boys in this clip, but all were very friendly and happy to chat and get in photos.

Yes, great Aussie 80's song. Thanks heaps for posting.

@felizcrazyy Wow. Where was this filmed?
My first guess is suburban Sydney, but I could be wrong of course. :)

drove down this street today, only about 3 or so houses left that are in this clip

that's sad! amazing how an ordinary street on an ordinary day in 1987 can be pressed onto film for the world to see in 22 years time. A time capsule of how simple and uncomplicated Australian suburban life was, back in the late 80's.
