  • ughh.. my motor came with smaller bullet connecters and instead of having little bowls its like a "shovel" shape and my soldering iron for some reason isnt melting the solder i have to hold it against the solder for a while just to get it to melt.

  • @NautilusDubstep You need a higher wattage iron.

  • What kind of soldering station do you use these days Squirrel?

  • @jparks4081 Its a Hakko

  • hey squirrel i was wondering would i be able to use bullet comectors with batteries?

cause im sick of the traxxas conectors coming apart.

and obviously i would heatchrink the ends so it dosent short out. do u think it wold be ok?

  • @TraxxasNoobie Sure, a connector is a connector.

  • can you also use these on brushed motors and esc

  • So its basically not that hard then.

  • @65BUZZ You can change either.

  • Hey man I need help

The brushless motor I got has those bullet connectors and the ESC which is novak mongoose. Does not fit with the brushless motor. So my question is would I have to change the ESC plug or the motor ? Please help

    Thanks

  • @rc4life44 Solder on the side and prefill the cup.

No idea on the MM to strip. That will vary from wire and cup. You will need to customize it to your hardware.

You should have a mm or two from the top of the cup to the edge of the insulation.

  • what works better iron on the outside or inside?

and is it okay to fill the cup with solder and let solder be the gap between the wire and the end of the connector

how many mm do i strip the wire

lastly do i dip the wire in so far the rubber outside of the wire is touching the solder or do it just let it touch the bare wire

  • You should wrap your solder around an empty spool.

    Just less tangles that way.

  • Thanks for the video, I just watched it and soldered my first bullet style connector

  • I get a lot to learn by Ur Videos Man, Keep it Up.

  • did u try holding the iron on the outside of the bullet connector?

  • Great video, thank you very much!!!

  • Thanks man, super helpful.

  • Anyone experience this?...VXL-3S(newer ones) have the bullet connector coming out of the speed control itself. Rather than having the connector mid wire. Well apparently mine got hit at some point and broke off the speed control. Now I have a situation where I need to solder a flat bottomed bullet connector ( a litlle nipple on the bottle, not perfectly flat) directly to the circuit board...not doing well with that! SHEESH...any help, advice, or experience would be greatly appreciated .

  • I dont remember exactly but I believe they were 3.5mms or 4mms?

    Again, I dont recall.

  • what size connectors are those your using?

  • Should be fine.

  • What WATTAGE soldering iron do you recommend?

Would 100watt be too much ?
