Heres another sims 2 tutorial, this time on how to make the ceilings of your sims 2 house raised or even lowered. This can give your house a realistic unique look rather than the same leveled ceilings all the time. how can you like see 2 floors from the 1sr floor if you get what i mean.. lol

well usually if there are no tiles on your second floor you can see it from the 1st or you can just press tab on the first floor and press page up to see the second floor

I had the same issue, use the "lower foundation" tool to go the the very bottom of the pillar and click down on each corner untill you get the desired hight.
