@richardsmith123money That's great. Him and I were crew mates. I was a radioman on her. We had about 3500 men on board; too many to get to know everybody. Tell your dad that an old crew mate said hello.

@tailspin37 my dad served on same time he remembers when they first took her out for the shake down run and broke one of the main shafts.

That Carrier in the film was the USS Forrestal (CVA-59). I served on her from 1955-1959.
