Every year divers at the New England Aquarium count the animals living in the Giant Ocean Tank. During the 2008 census this video was taken of the cownose rays. As you can see, one of them was looking for some food!

@NewYorkS4U Steve was killed by the sting on its tail, not by a bite. They have no teeth, so a bite from one of these would probably feel like a hand clamping on you.

@whiteplague07 they have petting tanks at several zoos and I believe at the Tampa Bay Rays stadium, their stinger is made of keratin (like toenails or hair) and can be clipped blunt so that they are more than safe to pet. I would love to have one as a pet, they are so vibrant and lively. Alas I do not have a massive space to put a highly regulated pool. Will just have to go back to the zoo lol.
All you can get in smaller pet spaces are teacup rays and they are rather small, dull and ugly

Wow. Now that's freaky. They can bite you and it wouldn't feel good. Just ask the beloved Crocodile Hunter..........if you could : \

I would be careful petting them, seeing that they are stringrays and can cause you serious pain.
