I hate stupid singing talent shows like x factor or American idol. Its a fashion competition. This is not what music is supposed to be. You shouldn't be ranked on what notes you can hit. If anything you should be judged on your lyrics or your music. Half of the stuff the winners put out are auto-tuned& don't use real instruments. De la Rocha has an incredible voice, but would never be able to win because he probably cant "hit those notes" .This is why everything on the radio sucks.

@009marshall I can't believe people are still propagating this nonsense. Simon Cowell's label, Syco has nothing to do with RATM. Nor does Simon Cowell have anything to do with RATM's label, Epic Records. The only link between the two is Sony, who own Epic, and own fifty percent of Syco.

So no, Simon Cowell was not the winner from this, RATM are NOT signed to Simon Cowell's label, therefore it WAS an artist that wasn't from Simon Cowell's label.
