so beautiful no words can describe it

It seems to me that Randy Newman has always had a gift for writing beautiful and evocative music, and "Louisiana - 1927" is no exception. Outstanding, Randy, and thanks to thecatkeaton for posting this.

i love this guy, who doesn't, but..this could be as whimsical and fun as the toy story tunes with a little more percussion. it could be sung over top it's so the same in theory. it's unimpressive for a sad song, why would he make every song in a major key like this?

Beautiful music and absolutely gorgeous lighting! Timeless!

@Greenhornet270 Fuck you Bob.

Sadly, this song appears to be timeless. Gives me chills every time.

With all that has happened to Louisana recently, and the past few years, and how badly the people of that area have been treated by the mis-handling of disaster relief by our own Govt., THIS would be our perfect national anthym. Randy Newman, you are a musical and social genius far ahead of your time.

Lived through countless Hurricanes; and God willing Ill live through more of them...wondering how much HAARP had to do with Katrina?

At the very least, I know Ray Charles recorded or performed "Sail Away." Even Nina Simone has covered his work.
What a beautiful song, it makes me so sad and tells me that beauty can be sorrowful and hopeful all at the same time...Go figure
