@luvnmusic2008 I thought that Amish were mennonite........a kind of branch off or sub group but still mennonite
-
Mennonite ya right
-
@dmast2008 That's pretty much how the Amish around here in Somerset County live! Then again, Swartzentruber is a well known name in Springs!

@jessejmorris2nd I know Mennonites who have beards, my friend Naomi's dad has facial hair and they're the nicest Mennonite family you'd ever want to meet...it's unmarried men who are clean shaven in the Amish Community! I also know married men in the Mennonite Community who don't have facial hair! So please get your facts straight...by the way, I've been living in Somerset County PA my whole life, which is right behind Lancaster in being the Amish Capital!

WRONG...That is an AMISH couple..I know a lot about the Amish cause my 9th great grandfather was Joseph Hochstetter, the name is now Hostettler or Hostetler, he was one of the first Amish to settle in the US. His son, my 8th great grandfather settled in Springs, Pennsylvania, which is actually where I grew up and is very populated with Amish! And NO I'm not Amish! I'm just descended from them, like 50 billion other people in the US!

They are Swartzentruber amish, one of the strictest sects of amish you will find. e.g. no indoor toilets and plumbing. I was born into an amish family, my parents converted when i was 14 years old. Thank God we got away from that life style. We were from a community without near the restrictions that these people live with. We had telephones, all be it outside the house, and at least we had plumbing in our house to bathe.
They are Amish. Also, are they not allowed to walk on the streets of anywhere they want and drink slurpies or soda? Its like telling a Catholic or Lutheran or anyone that they cant. Everyone stares at them because they are dressed different, us mennonites do to, but why do people have to stare. We are all human.

Yes, they are definitely Amish, not Mennonite. Different... but kind of the same. All are of the Christian faith and conservative life. Good people!!
