Here is a video that I spliced together using the software Final Cut Pro. The film examines the rich and poor living in New York City and reveals the extreme contrast between the two lifestyles. To expose the disparity, I filmed New Yorkers shopping in rich parts of the city such as Madison, Fifth Avenue, and the Upper East Side and dining in the some of the most expensive places. I even captured a few celebrities such as Ivana Trump and Bill Murray who both seemed totally unaffected by the current economic crises. This footage was then intertwined with scenes of those not able to consume at all and who appeared to be suffering the most such as the thousands of people who live on the streets everyday. From mothers to veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan, more. I also added some interesting sound effects which intensify the overall piece.
Cool Images - and important message, it shows the bottom line of how we exist in polarity and how some have because others does not. It would be cool to do a remix of the video with some upbeat music though as it get's a little long. Thanks for Sharing.
