Carol Anne's Theme by Jerry Goldsmith from Tobe Hooper's Poltergeist

Originally, John Bettis composed lyrics for this beautiful and haunting theme for the 1982 classic, but they were dropped when it came to final mix in favour of the wordless choir. Erich Kunzel and The Cincinnati Pops restored the lyrics for thir re-recording on The Ultimate Movie Music Album, available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Carol-Anns-Theme-from-Poltergeist/dp/B00150SAEW

  • @HeartMonger It's true, I'm on the inside. If only there was some way for someone else to record it and release it through legitimate means, such as iTunes (itunes.apple.com/us/album/carol-anns-theme-from-poltergeist/id80887313?i=80887157) or Amazon (amazon.com/Carol-Anns-Theme-from-Poltergeist/dp/B00150SAEW)...

  • @HeartMonger It's on CD, but none of the releases of the score for the movie.

  • Yikes. Where is this version from? I've never heard it with lyrics before. The original with just the chanting is much better.

  • This music saddens me, yet I still love it. Definately love this version too. Thanks. RIP Heather O'Rourke.

  • people from the uk suck

  • Amazing version! I've never heard this haunting and incredibly beautiful melody with lyrics before.

  • where r the lyrics?

  • By the way, if anyone wants to purchase this theme version, it was not recorded during the film sessions but recorded later (according to Mike Matessino, who was at the film recording sessions). It appears in the album 'Fantastic Journey' by Erich Kunzel and The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

  • One of the most gorgeous pieces Goldsmith ever created. Who knew it had lyrics?!

  • I didn't know this lullaby had lyrics.
