The Eastover Elementary Sign Choir of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan performed the National Anthem at a Detroit Tigers game on May 19, 2009. The group includes 70 Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing children who perform contemporary music using American Sign Language (ASL).

The group was joined by Joyce Stearnes Thompson - son of Norman "Turkey" Stearnes - the famed Negro-League baseball player who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Copperstown, NY in 2000 - 21 years after his death.

The choir is partially funded through Deaf Community Advocacy Network (Deaf CAN!), the Eastover PTO, and the parents of the Eastover children.

The Eastover Elementary Sign Choir is directed by Tony LaPerna Jr.
