damn nice.. just ordered me some 3.92 and master install kit get rid of my 3.55
-
Was the speedo recalibrated? If not ur maybe going 45 mph tops.
-
I have the 4.56 gear ratio on my 99 5.2 magnum 4+4
-
wow wish my ram had those gears that picks up some speed fast !

@gr8scott95 Just pointing out that you had mentioned that the stock axle was 3.55, however 3.92 was the only (hence stock) axle ratio on the R/T models. I think Dodge could've dabbled more into the aftermarket here and made a killing by offering a 4.56 option as the aftermarket is making a killing themselves, even to this day still.

@RT360ci And? You could still get the 3.92s on the SLT.
-
@gr8scott95 3.92 was stock on the R/T models only.

@94EglVisionTSI Yukon Gear and Randy's Ring and Pinion are the better online ordering sites if you want to DIY. Be warned, you have to rent or buy the proper tools to get the preload set correctly or the gears won't mesh properly lowering durability and increasing noise. If you're unsure, it's best to take it into a shop.

@Unasigad The 5.9, depending on the PCM creates it's max HP at 4000-4200rpm. The great thing about the 5.9L V8 is that it still pulls great, well past 4200rpm, at least on my R/T.
Not true. Speedo recalibration is not needed for a gear change. Speedo was off by about 4 mph due to the slightly taller tires I had on there.

I think it's the converter locking up. It's not slipping.
