Matthew B. Brown, the editor of Nevada Magazine, spent a day at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe in January 2010. After checking out the resort's new Winters Creek Lodge, Brown rode the Blazing Zephyr chairlift. Here's what he saw ... (note: This video was done better, originally, but there was a copyright issue with the song.)
A short drive from Reno, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has the highest base elevation (8,260 feet) of any Lake Tahoe ski resort. Although it has plenty of mild terrain for the beginner, it is well known for its advanced terrain — 50 percent of the mountain is rated black or double-black diamond.

The base elevation at Mt. Rose Ski-Tahoe is 8260 ft.
