  • Moiseiwitsch might have not taken the repeats anyways. I know Anton Rubinstein considered repeats in pre-Beethoven music optional and Moisewitsch was old enough to be influenced by A.R. All is forgiving though. This is such delightful playing and Moisewitsch makes so many changes to the original score that this really more of a transcription a la Tausig. (I've recently been listing to Trevor Pinnock's performance on harpsichord)

I love Moisewitsch's made up coda.

  • @pianiplunker Ha ha ha!!! The limits of the recording technology at the time. (;-D) Thank heavens, all the same, that we have at least this much. I guess some technician out there could work it so that each variation is repeated before the next one is recorded...but it would have to be someone who's as mad about Moiseiwitsch and historical recordings as we are! (:-D)

  • @Noshirm No repeats!!! Argggghhhh. Otherwise wonderful.

  • WONDERFUL! (:-0)
