Over the years CBS News has been considered, by many, the most newsworthy network newscast and, by others, liberally biased. Its history has been dominated by its personalities from Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and now Katie Couric. Ironically, all of these news persons have, after leaving CBS, critiqued television for overemphasizing entertainment values. As you watch this interview with Fidel Castro shortly after taking control of Cuba, does Edward R Murrow exemplify newsworthy reporting or commentary? Does he also exemplify entertainment values at the expense of newsworthy reporting or commentary?

This was for CBS's "Person to Person" program, which Murrow hosted for a number of years. During the same period he hosted a serious news show for which he became famous, "See It Now." Person to Person was a celebrity interview show, and most of the interviews played out like this. The show was popular/profitable for CBS, and by hosting it Murrow took a bit of the heat off of him within CBS for his more hard-hitting reporting.
Btw, where did you find this interview, and do you have the rest?
