I have used MacSpeech Dictate with MovCaptioner for the Mac to caption my YouTube videos. It is much more accurate than YouTube's machine generated captions. Just repeat what you hear when MovCaptioner loops thru your video a little at a time and you'll quickly have all your captions ready to export for YouTube or many other caption formats. Go to the synchrimedia site on youtube for more info.

Thx for doing this. I'm an author based in Australia. I just broke my arm and have just ordered this software so I can keep working. I was concerned about the program's ability to recognise accents other than American but you've allayed some of those concerns.
