This shows the newest version of the Digitech RP500 firmware (Version 2.0) which includes the highly sought after looper function that, up until now, was only available on the RP1000.

Joe Faraldi with ImageRiver Media shows the basic functionality of this new update and runs through all the steps to use this new looper function on the RP500 from Digitech.

Sorry about the poor quality of the video. Hopefully Santa brings a new camera!

  • hey man how do u download the looper from the website?? mine is version 1.2

  • @RandyRhoadsFan96 Hey man. All you need to do is go to the Digitech website and click on the RP500 link. Then at the bottom right of the page is a "downloads" link. You need to download NetUpdater (either Windows or Mac). Then when you run it, it will walk you through the update. Merry Christmas!

  • if i bought this new would it have the update on it already?

  • @Clandestine2233 Yes, it should have the firmware update already. When you power up the unit, see if it says Ver. 2.0

  • how do i get out of looper mode?

  • @delacruzneili right on man! happy you're happy!! Merry Christmas!

  • @ImageRiver can't thank you more.. my amp sucks.. so i rely so much on RP500 for amp effects.. thanks again..

  • @delacruzneili Right on! Yeah, if you're playing through a power amp and a standard guitar cabinet, definitely turn off the cabinet modeling. Basically the RP becomes your preamp. Enjoy!

  • @ImageRiver thanks man.. the AMP/CABINET effects in RP500 are great! really great!..

  • @delacruzneili Sorry for the delay in answering.

Actually this is a great question.

If you're using all three parts at once as a complete tonal solution, you will only hear the tones as they are supposed to be represented through a full range system (a PA system, computer monitors, studio monitors, headphones). When the engineers designed the models, they did it so that the output would emulate the total system. If you're playing through a cabinet, simply turn off the cab model in the unit.
