This is one of our John Deere 843H feller bunchers, with Jeff running the machine. We are thinning a hardwood stand in Otsego, MI.

  • What you saw in the video is typical. Anything much steeper, and we use our Timbco 425exl. You can see that on a different youtube video.

  • Yes, we have a Morbark 22rxl whole tree chipper

  • john deere makes a damn good cutter, I run a hydro ax 511

  • We started out with a 1993 511, and now have 2 identical JD 843H sawheads

  • That tree is about the max that the machine will handle, while holding it and moving the tree around. You can see that Jeff tipped the tree back slightly, to keep the machine from tipping forward.
