Probably the most prestigious section in all of Gables Estates, this is a large community of single family homes with a community tennis club, pool and recreation center. Within Cocoplum is the separately gated private island of Tahiti Beach. Just one more place Google Street View can't take you, but MiamiHal does...

Community Amenities:
Pool - Residents can enjoy an outdoor heated pool and hot tub year round. Swimming instructors are available for private lessons at residents expense. The pool is located next to the Clubhouse.

Tennis Courts - There are 8 Hydro Clay Courts located on the corner of Isla Dorada and Sinsonte for the tennis savvy or beginners. Four courts are lighted for nighttime play. Residents can benefit from private lessons at their expense from one of many instructors.

Gym / Fitness Center - The fitness center is located in the Clubhouse, on the first floor. The center offers a studio for aerobics and other fitness exercises for residents. There are 5 cardio machines, free weights, and weight equipment. Personal trainers and Martial Arts instructors are available at residents expense.

Basketball Court - A full size basketball court is available. It is lighted for night play. Personal trainers are available for lessons at residents expense.

Playground - Children can have fun on the playground with appropriate play equipment. The playground is located next to the Clubhouse.

Clubhouse - The Clubhouse can be rented. It is divided into two (2) distinct areas. The upstairs has a formal setting area that includes a bar, meeting room and outside terrace. The downstairs includes the fitness room and outside patio.

Cocoplum is behind manned guard gates and is located where Old Cutler Road turns into Categena/Cocoplum Circle.

The idea is to give people a sense of neighborhoods before they start seriously shopping for a home there. Driving is just about the best way to do this. I suggest you look at home styles, size of yards, cars in the neighborhood, public resources (parks, schools, etc) and retail locations.
