ONSLOW COUNTY — We've seen Camp Lejuene Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are joining the fight against Libya.

About 2,200 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, or 26th MEU will take part. Their mission is to help end the violence directed at the Libyan people.

"In Libya right now they are doing exactly what we need them to do. They are doing what they are told and right now that's protecting Libyan people against Qadhafi forces," said Captain Timothy Patrick, a Marine with the 26th MEU.

They are Honoring their Oaths, just like we are honoring the UN Charter we signed shortly after WWII, in an effort to fullfill our obligations of the UN Charter that we created and signed with dozens of other countries in the hopes to prevent another Holocaust. @aranelinya maybe you should read the entire constitution. article 2 section 2 says that the president is the commander in chief of the army and can deploy troops without a declaration of war by congress, which has been done many times. so obama's decision to deploy troops was completely constitutional. if i remember correctly, congress didn't declare war on iraq, either. bush did that by himself, but i don't see any conservatives criticizing him for doing that.
