I work for a bank and I don't understand people like you. When you spend more money than you have, that is basically an unsecured loan. Guess what...that's not free!! Banks are just like any other business, they are there to make money. If they don't make a profit, they will close. Then how are you going to buy things when you don't have the money to pay for them? Here's a tip, write down what you spend and how much you have left. You will never have another problem! Grow up!

Total lack of personal responsibility and then crying out that you are a simple commoner as an excuse. If you are going through such hard times as a single parent then its a shame that your lack of attention to your account made you overdraw. Grow up.

sell your video camera and put money in the bank. Problem solved.

You abused your account by spending more money than you had and you're accusing the bank of ripping you off? When you write a check for more money than is in your checking account, you are ripping off your bank! Grow up and take responsibility for your behavior. It's because of people like you that this economy is in such a mess.

Sorry...I'm sick of hearing the stupid excuses people have for using their bank account like a credit account. If you had a bank give a merchant some of it's own money, then you will get a fee for that. It's not new! Noone hid that fact from you! It's there in print when you opened your account! You also probably went to them and were very rude; acting like you were entitled to never pay it. Well, they need to fee people, otherwise you would do this EVERY SINGLE TIME and use their money!

If a bank puts through something that you've purchased, shouldn't you balance your checkbook well enough to anticipate its deduction from your account no matter when it goes through? Rather than just saying, oh I've got the money there, and spending more, then when it finally hits your account, your pissed because it wasn't when you wanted it to?
It was balanced and accurate. Sarcasm isn't necessary. People are going through hard times right now and the last thing they need is a bank ripping them off. Take your medication and stop attacking strangers on the internet.
