@Gertrudia09 - her character is a small timer in a sudden hit show about celebrities. MM was a very good singer but if her character wasn't she sang different...like in Lets Make Love & Bus Stop.

@lapetiteombre - Olivier also says in his biography that after meeting Marilyn the first time he was head over heels, in the way he was when he first met his wife Vivien Leigh, and felt very sorry for his wife because he felt something was goingto happen. So, maybe an element of sour grapes too...

@lapetiteombre I believe some men were intimidated by her, their issues. some women, too. She was a very strong spirit in an era of male domination where she was not always submissive. Especially those that demonstrate possessive traits stemming from insecurity. Despite her perfection this beauty, was such a perfectionist, that fed her own insecurities & some people did not like being "made to wait" like it was primadona game; likely they'd not have been sympathetic to truth anyway.

@lapetiteombre Oh yes I know. It was said That Laurence was jealous of her and wanted to be in control. This was her movie and Milton Greenes but who knows why truly he hated her. Marilyn was quite difficult to get along with on the movie set because lack of coming on to the set lol. She always kept everyone waiting.
