  • I pity the young men having to march off to the slaughter of the trenches of WWI.

  • @MarkramUK

It's a very difficult war to debate. On one hand, you have unimaginative generals. But try to come up with a tactic other than attrition that could be used in WWI.

  • @MrBazza86 The english can keep the Windsors on their own. We Germans have nothing to do with this family and their english war crime through the centuries.

  • Excuse the ignorant MrBigal1690 - the Irish regiments more than did their share - a hell of a lot more than the German family in Buck Palace who should have contributed more instead of just conveniently changing their name to Windsor in 1917 . . .

  • Zomg top comments are both by the same guy. Never seen that before, hats off to you top commenter! Well done!

  • Just a pity the oirish stabbed us in the back

  • Plenty of young Irish, Canadian, Australian and New Zealanders and British for the old men of British Army General Staff to march towards slaughter.

  • @Beaviz81 Agreed... but to be honest in the conditions the infantry had to live in I think death was a godsend.
