Johnny A. playing Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman" at Threadgills in Austin, Tx. Beautiful song!!! Great show!!!
My camera's mic gets a little overdriven near the end, too much low end for it to handle.

  • Ive seen Johnny A live he was 5 feet in front of me. His tone is incredible. The bass tone live is amazing also. This is his old drummer too. He was great.

    New drummer? When?

I've been waiting for him to come back to Austin, it's been almost two years.

  • I was just listening to Johnny Cash's cover of this song on my mp3 player. Never was much of a Johnny Cash fan musically but one day I found his version of this song quite accidentally and fell in LOVE with it. Anyhow, I decided to do a Youtube search just now for Cash's version and found this beauty which, to me is in a very similar style as his. You were really blessed to be in the front row of this very moving performance. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us.

    All the best,

    Annette

This was a great night, and I felt very lucky indeed. It's my favorite version of this tune.

  • i think this is at the turning point in peirmont

  • This was taped at Threadgill's in Austin, Tx...I couldn't believe I got front row seats for $10.

    He's my current favorite guitarist!

  • Simply wonderful!

  • Wow! I'm not a country music fan, but, it goes to show you that GOOD music is Genre-less!!! This is one the best contemporary compositions and this man has made it even better!

Thank you for bringing back such a great song and for keeping the majestic electric guitar ever so majestic. God Bless!

  • I just added this to my favorites. NICE!
