  • well we use a library for communicate using the parallel port of a pc. the port was connected a 8 bits shift register with a clock signal ( you can use a bit port of the parallel for this, but in our exp is more complicated so use a 555 chip to generate the square pulse ). The register is use like a memory of the port info, then you connect it to 8 transistors for protection of the port and then connect to h drive or relays

  • we use c# for the interface and the driver control for the motors, i dont rebember what type of h bridge we use

    It is as per the specifications given for braille like,

    1) Array of 2X3

    2) Each dot spacing 2.5mm and all that thing

    what is the speed of u r model

  • that correct, the arrays was 2 x 3 and the spacing was the standar in braille.

    I don´t rememmber the speed of the printer, but i think that was 1 sheet in 2 or 3 minutes, very slow but thats because the driver

    I also made one head by using the 6 push-pull type solenoids but very bulky

    I have an only size problem if u can help plz....

  • you can increase the speed but that depens of the motors you are suing and the type of driver you put in them.

  • The head is a car alarm linear motor (the ones that dock the buttons in the doors)with a nail to do the marks, the body of the printer is wooden and has 2 step motors to move the paper and the head, the driver of the printer was done in C# and the printer is conected to a pc with the parallel port (like a real printer)
