A Manchester woman described as a bit player in a Department of Motor
Vehicles bribery case walked out of court dodging a county jail
sentence on Wednesday after pleading guilty to a reduced charge.
Adelina Cardona — sister of the alleged mastermind in the bribery
scheme — pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unsworn
falsification as part of a negotiated deal with prosecutors. On
Wednesday in court, Senior Assistant AG Jane Young explained how the
bribery scheme worked.
