Being a man isnt a big enough word to describle the power and mindset of the sailors siul who stood on that bridge deck filming and sailing that glory of hell and fury. But something tells me he certainly kissed his wife when he got home.

Well, the language spoken in Norway in the viking age was Old Norse, western accent. It is a little bit different from the Icelandic of today. The western accent of Old Norse is the origin of the Icelandic language. One difference is this: In Old Norse the ending of -r or -ir is used where -ur is used in Icelandic today.
When Icelanders are descendants of Norwegian emigrants, then saying that Norwegians and Icelanders are the same people isn't so far from the truth. ;)

His name was exhacly: Leifur Eiríksson. And the tales of him is still written in Icelandic. People in Norway all talked Icelandic in thease days. Saying that he was Norweigian is exhacly the same as saying that Icelanders are Norweigian. His father was Norweigian and he was Icelandic.
