Watch our great new campaign video featuring Ricky Gervais.

In the wake of the devastating Cyclone Nargis that hit Burma on 2 May, more than one million people are homeless, up to 128,000 killed.

This natural disaster was turned into a man-made catastrophe by Burma's brutal regime. They blocked international aid and left thousands without food, shelter or medicine. The real disaster in Burma is the government.

Burma is ruled by one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world. It ruthlessly persecutes, imprisons and tortures human rights and democracy activists. Thousands of men, women and children are used as slave labour.

Please help us bring human rights and democracy to Burma. Go to http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk

With thanks to: Ricky Gervais, Ogilvy & Trunk Animation.

  • I wish we could do more... We should not only boycott the companies that work in Burma, but also Chinese products, since the Chinese government supports the Burmese military. If we stopped buying anything created in Burma AND China, the Burmese would have a democracy in the next three months.

  • Just join this campaign,

a few dollars in their name,

a time for charity or ours to blame,

    genocide is their game.

Time is running out you see,

    The guns carried by SPDC,

    are used against children's will,

    Burma gives me the chills.

  • This is still so sad to me that there hasn't been enough aid brought to the people of Burma. My tears and prayers are with them all.

  • As the vast majority of gadgets and unnecessary items are built in China (or at least some of the pieces), that would do the trick without lots of problems. If the Chinese government suffered the boycott too, that would really make a difference.

  • You are absolutely right. I know, Total boycott of "MADE IN CHINA" is hard for many people these days. But, everyone can think twice before buying. Let start from "stop or reduce buying gadgets and unneccessary items".

  • thanks a lot, gervais, for sharing this video. hopefully it will move more people to show solidarity with and work for the freedom of the burmese people.

  • Free Burma, Free Tibet

  • This terrible catastrophe that we see,

    The pain caused by SPDC,

    Must be stopped ASAP,

    So please use your liberty.

When rape is used as a weapon of war,

thousands starving with disease, an uproar

is needed for those who have freedom to do such,

    it doesn't take much.
