Tim Babb Smooth Criminal 1989-A Tribute to Michael Jackson

My mom found this video and was watching it and I asked her if I could borrow it to post to YouTube. It's definitely embarrassing but it's also a window back to a time when I was a kid and Michael Jackson was more than a singer, more than a dancer...he was my idol.

I actually got to meet Michael once. It was in Vegas and I shook his hand as he came through greeting a large crowd of fans like me who had spontaneously gathered at learning of his presence. I'm a little ashamed to say that I didn't consider it a big deal at the time.

If I could go back and time and tell this kid that one day you will have a chance to shake hands with Michael Jackson...he would lose his mind with excitement. I wish I had retained a little more of the Tim Babb kid in this video's mentality over the years. I don't know what he would think of Michael's later life and the scandals that rocked it...but I do know that the tears I shed for Michael are his.

But I take comfort in the fact that where young Tim Babb lives, Michael is still alive and at the top of his game.

Two years to the day of MJ's passing, and I still come here to pay my tribute to the greatest entertainer the world will ever see. This video sums up exactly what Michael meant to so many people like young Tim. As a 17 y/o I grew up pretty much in the middle of all the scandals and the "wacko jacko" part of his life but that never stopped me adoring his music. To this day I still always listen to in my opinion, the best singer the world has ever seen.
