Homophobia at Dickinson College

seriously? i go to dickinson and believe me it is no worse than it is at any college, job, or any other organization. this video is making the college out to be a place where hate crimes happen and where homophobia is a real problem. News flash; IT IS NO BIGGER A PROBLEM HERE THAN IT IS ANYWHERE ELSE.

I can only contribute my experience. I don't go to spectrum because of the leaders made an offensive comment to me about the way I categorize my sexuality. If I generalized that to all of spectrum, I am sure that would not be fair. So I decided not to generalize that to campus. In the end I gave Greek life a chance, and in 3 years in my sorority, I never experienced one comment like I did at that spectrum meeting. I noticed how many people are open but don't trust the radicalness of spectrum.

homophobia would not exist if everyone had a sassy gay friend. mine just happens to call other gay guys faggots. go figure. you know why he's awesome? because nothing phases him. and its because of that I can tell that he's going to go far in life.

I can tell this film is not very recent. And I am aware that the footage that was used from Mr. Dickinson was taken from Dickinson's own youtube account. Was the student on stage during the clip asked if he could be put in a film that would somewhat suggest he promotes homophobia?

'Golinkin' maybe you should Goread a book and for the rest of you...(sportspadawan...etc - you're comedy is great, I feel as though our very language was abused by your stupidity) maybe the problem here is that you don't understand what homophobia is. After all the recent publicity surrounding the suicides one would think you might clue in. The homophobia at Dickinson isn't as bad as it used to be (which doesn't say much) and I'm certain that we all have your brilliant minds to thank!
