Here I am demoing a couple of U2 tones out of the blackstar Ht-5. I got this tone by setting the ISF knob all the way to the right-what the manual describes as a "woody" tone The various delays, reverbs, and compressions are all from my custom created U2 patches on my Line 6 M13.

1. "All I want is You"
2. "Where the streets have no name"
3. "Bad"
4. "Pride"

  • Hi great video, your Avatar cab is it the 112 cube size? Because I also own the Blackstar Ht5 but with the Ht 110 cab I am use to 112 cabs so I just need to make sure I order the right size cab from Avatar. But the Blackstar HT5 is a practice/recording amp I don't think it is even comparable VOX AC15 which are AWESOME amps especially with the Alnico Blue speaker. But the HT5 is a great 5 WATT amp and since I don't gig it is great to crank it up and not have the neighbors knocking on my door.

  • Thanks for watching. My avatar is the 1x12 cube size. Dont knock the HT-5H too hard man I definitely think that if you were to put a alnico blue, red fang,or warehouse speakers black and blue you would get really good voxy type tones. Amen to not having the cops come to your house when cranking the HT-5-love it! I actually crank this thing in my basement when my 19 month old daughter is asleep and she never hears it! Love it

  • What speaker you running in the Avatar cab?

  • a warehouse speakers green beret

  • hello, can i have a request? a demo of the clean channel of the blackstar ht-5? i heard it isnt quite well enough? im planning on either getting the amp or maybe a better clean amp with a blackstar HT-DUAL pedal.. what do you think?

  • Oh no way I would not knock the Blackstar I love it 100% I am just saying a AC15 compared to the HT5 is like apples an oranges.

I have a Vox Pathfinder 15r and it is a very warm ss amp I also love!

Thanks for getting back to me. Peace!

  • this amp unfortunately will not keep up with an energetic drummer-its a few watts shy as a 15 watter will just barely keep up. You could probably get some really good U2 tones with a more vox type speaker-maybe i'll post a vid with my red fang in the cab. Basically the ISF knob is british tones from the middle to the far right and american tones from the middle to the far left-middle is a neutral I guess. Thanks for watching!

  • For Vox type stuff-the AC15 is best of course-the alnico speaker has a beautiful tone that rings. As far as an effects loop goes-it doesnt bother me in the leats cause I use an M13 which is basically just plugging in one physical pedal-so no appreciable drop in tone or volume is perceived. This amp excels in one particular area-Marshall type tones. I can get good van halen, ac/dc up to iron maiden even. It will never be as good as my Ac15 for U2 but as I showed here its definitely doable.
