Sold

This is just some video of me messing around in my driveway so all you detroit diesel fans can hear the engine more. The last video I put up of this truck became so popular I figured I'd put another one on here. I did not put the engine in myself. It was like that before I obtained the truck. It used to have a 350 gas motor in it.

  • Hey would you be interested in selling that truck ?

  • @1979peterbilt Sorry, I done allready sold it last year.

  • is it a 2 speed rear end? or a 2speed built in to the transmission.I know they make a electric shift 2 speed about 2500.00 is that what you have,I would be very interested in knowing what you actually have

  • What I have is a Muncie 465 4 speed, with a 2 speed auxiliary trans. in between it and the engine. The 2 speed was purchased from AdvanceAdaptersdotCom . I did not do the conversion though, so there are some things I can't answer about how it was done. It was supposedly done by a company down in Los Angeles. Your old chevy with the 453 in it is awesome! I was watching your videos of it. That was a really cool truck to put that engine in.

  • I have a 1976 Ford F250XLT with a 4-53 detroit and an Allison tranny. I got it a few months ago in Northern California. The conversion was done by a shop years ago in Carson City CA. The truck only gets 10.5mpg around town. I have not done a highway mpg check as of yet,

Do you know a good place to get parts for these motors?

  • Hmm. I wonder if the same company did mine. Do you mean Carson, CA down by LA? Because I'm pretty sure that's where mine was done too. That's strange that yours only gets 10.5mpg around town. Since you typed 4-53 and not 4-53T does it not have a turbo? Maybe that's why. Mine gets 19mpg mixed highway and around town. But no, I don't know of any good place to find parts for them other than the occasional ones posted on ebay.

  • @Menelius91 If that smog could kill an entire forest, why is it that we have so many huge trees and forests here in the U.S. right along with our smoking vehicles? Also trees thrive on carbon dioxide, and they convert it to oxygen. So the more smoke we give them, the more the forests will grow.

  • thumbs up for the dogie

  • wow this is a nice engine. i hate GMCs but hell id drive one if it had the detroit in it XD

  • doggy

  • why did yo u sell it

  • @dasani110 Read a chemistry book or an engine performance book. Carbon dioxide is not the point of focus. Rich running diesels emit a lot of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. That's not even mentioning oxides of nitrogen and then there is the sulfur that diesel engines emit (LOTS of sulfur when certain diesel guys put off-road diesel in their on-road trucks to avoid road tax). The fact that you have 40 thumbs up is pathetic as it shows massive ignorance.

    Sincerely,

    Automotive Engineer

  • its got a killer sound

  • any vids of those fords?

  • such a awesome truck. too bad you sold it i bet you loved it big time!

  • i see that it has a built in smoke screen! lol

  • Awesome! Tell me

Though...how difficult is the Detroit 453-T to source compared to a Cummins 4BT?
