Ryan and I hiking Castle Peak (14,265ft) and Conundrum Peak (14,060ft) via the northwest ridge in the Elk Mountains near Aspen, Colorado. We were going to attempt North Maroon, but as you can see the weather was not on our side. Instead we made the best of it and backpacked up Castle Creek to camp for the night. It rained most of the night, but the Marmot tent kept us plum dry.
This was a nice hike and another chance for us to get some crampon and axe experience. Also some good practice glissading and self arresting. Fun stuff, this brings my peak total to 67 and 68.
