Three members of the advanced Japanese koto class at UMD perform 'Furusato no Uta' (Song of Hometown), composed by Teichi Okano in 1914. This was at Asia Night, held at Nyumburu Cultural Center at the University of Maryland, Wednesday November 19, 2008, 7-9pm.

This is a Japanese folk song.

We lowered the tuning since it was too high for singing.

Also, the last part of the song got cut off since apparently my camera didn't have enough space, heh.

Enjoy?

(PS this song is also secretly known as The Song of Hell to those who had to play the second koto part...it's tricky!)
