Its Hydrophobic sand. Its supposed to keep from getting wet. If you look through a clear container you will see a thin layer of air around the sand.

you are an idiot polar and nonpolar combine so what your saying is that the sand does get wet. you are 18 but you should take a science class.

i know how they do it.
you just get regular clean sand some silicone sealant and mix it all up or sumthing like oil to coat the sand an thats how it works
then it looks like regular sand dry but just like wet sand sticks together on land dry sands under water is trying to get rid of all the water molecules and goes into whatever shape it can.
and yes you can make sand castles children lol.
