I don't see the point of this device. It's like having a few analogue synth modules, but hardwired, so that you're always stuck with the same patch. I'd rather have 4 or 5 Doepfer modules than this.

Why does the TriWave come with a line in? I would think any instrument would get totally drowned out by the blips, squeeks and scronks.

Very true, it's easy to turn the Triwave up so that it overwhelms the input... that's sort of the point, the Triwave is more an instrument than effect processor. But with LFO depths down low, the triwave makes a cool ring modulator. Plus check out the Triggered Ring Mod triwave video, it's built for a guitar input!
