On November 16, 2010, an FDA Advisory Panel held a hearing to review data on an investigational medicine for the treatment of systemic lupus, Benlysta®. During the proceedings, more than 30 individuals from the general public and advocacy community presented testimony.
In this video, twelve individuals who testified before the FDA panel share their stories. They represented people with lupus and family members of someone living with lupus. Their stories were compelling and helped to convince the panel members of the urgent need for new, safe, more tolerable, and effective treatments for lupus. The Lupus Foundation of America wishes to express its appreciation for their courage and determination to help secure approval of new treatments for lupus.
This is a great news to hear. Hope FDA approves Benlysta soon. I'm having bad reactions to my current regimen, but if I stop taking it, I might end up having a lupus flare again...
