WOW!!! I remember going there there when I was in 1st grade, I never thought that i would see The Flying Turns ever again, Thanks!!!!

This one was too scary for me to ride, I was too little. Bet it broke down less than the one at Geauga Lake Park! I worked there for two Summers doing sketches. It was a horrible place to work and I was terribly exploited. The working conditions were atrocious. I wasn't even paid by the hour. The boss would grope us and the cantine food gave me ulcers. When I needed a few days off to see a doctor in Kent, he fired me! I left Ohio. This was '77. Good video, thanks!

This ride is at knoebles now but it's still not finished!

@jdawggerw Then the ride is no longer there. The video is an older one.

@HattieLovesCattie I believe you are mistaken as I looked up the rides there out of curiosity and saw nothing that was even close to a trackless coaster like this?

They have this type of ride at a Dutch Amusement park. The park is Efteling. The rides can be seen here on YT.

It was actually shot by Dudley Humphrey Scott who was chief engineer at the park. I first saw it in 1978 when his sone, David Scott used to show his fathers movies during Euclid Beach Days at Euclid Square Mall.

wow, the greatest days in my summer as a kid? 'GE-DAY" at euclid beach!!! Ride till you couldnt ride any more, eat, and ride some more. My first amusement park memories, and they are great. I cried the year they shut the park down.
This looks so much better than Fetterman's design at Knoebels.
There are more important coasters to recreate than Flying Turns, anyway.

Yeah but who else went out on a limb and built one lately? Remember this ride has been extinct here for about 40 years. I commend Dick Knoebel for his efforts, we need more like him!!

This was shot on 16mm by Dudley Humphrey the owner of Euclid Beach Park and transferred in the early 80's to 3/4" broadcast tape.
