The most amazing musical instrument museum I have ever seen either in the US or Europe. Collection includes a quartet of Amati string instruments as well as a Stadivarius violin and guitars, a collection of saxophones by Adolph Sax and so much more I cannot begins to even hint at the breadth of this collection. Located at the university of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., this is a truly national treasure.

  • once again, wow

  • Your reaction is about like mine when I saw this place.

  • Are there ever concerts when these beautiful instruments can be heard? Thanks for showing them to us.

  • The museum occasionally has concerts which use a few of these instruments. Some of them are never played, however they are either too delicate or for one reason or another not able to be played. You would have to contact the museum for that type of information.
