  • I threw away my blend-tec for this..never looked back

  • The Breville is "mid Pack" in price only but is top end in what it does. My friend has both because his Vita bowl got knocked over and broke when it hit the cement. He found the Breville at a store and now uses it more than the vita. I wish he used it for something other than smoothes.

  • The Breville is a "mid-pack" blender as far as pricing goes, please don't compare it to blenders that cost double the price such as vitamix or a blendtec.

Unless you want to pulverize seeds, a "mid-pack" blender is best for most people.

I have no need to pulverize seeds or even a rake or an ipod for that matter.

  • I had this blender for a week and returned it back.

Yes, it looks fantastic and has a powerful motor but It could not blend fruit completely. I always had a lot of stringy fibers in my smoothies, especially if I had pineapple as one of the ingredients.

Don't know if it's due to the new funky blade design or what, but the end result was a bit disappointing. Also it didn't feel like the blade was spinning as fast as it should be.

  • @rmsolympic1 : Actually, I have this blender and I am using it for over a year. This is a work horse for all kinds of foods.Important thing is: follow the manual very strictly. you have to give its motor a break between blend cycles. My friend has vitamix. They are not quite as happy. I'm totally satisfied with this.

  • I wonder how this compares to a vitamix or a blendtec blender, especially for making vegetable, fruit, and green smoothies using tough foods for blending.
