  • @ograheem Growing up in Orinda, this song was a blast. Airplay on KSOL & KDIA.

  • Great song....

  • This is the tune a really great Seattle DJ:::Robert L. Scott::: played at the end of the broadcast day. KYAC was the only music station that played Soul music during that time and the only air time the station could get had to sign off at 6:00 every evening. So it was a political statement by Robert that we were all a victim of circumstance. RIP Robert L. Scott.

  • @alb082383 I KNOW THATS RIGHT, THE POOPOOS FOR INSTANCE HA H HA HA HA HA AND THEN SOME.

  • What dance song... I remember this song being played at the dances

  • TO : CHECKMATE657879 I apreciate reply. I have to agree with what you said, because you were correct. Some people were still driving those cars around at that time in my area (San Francisco) by the young and old alike. some were musicians (not known) that played or wrote songs. So I was really about 9 years old around the time of that record not 7 as Ipreviously said, if the year of that record is as you stated. Thank you. I'm under the impression that you're a good chess player & deep thinker

  • That car looks like early 50's or even late 40's.

Victim of Cirmstance was out in the late 60's - around 66 or 67.

Therefore, that car doesn't "portray" or "capture" that specific time period, unless you mean some people were still driving those cars.

  • I think I was 7 years old when I first heard this song for the first time, and it was from the radio. I liked the song, and still do. At that time, young men and teen agers were singing this song and other songs of that time in a group on street corners (acapella), and in front of little grocery stores in the neighborhoods. They did real singing back then, harmonizing and background vocals and all. They were good singers. I miss that oldies style type of singing. they dressed well also.
