@nixthetiger Does the book contain a discussion of the Morgenthau Plan for the dismemberment and starvation of Germany that was then largely implemented under Potsdam and the JCS 1067? Does it mention the Morgenthau special officers (all co-religionists of Morgenthau) attached to the US component of the Allied Control Commission that then siphoned off a huge slice of the Marshall Plan funding and operated the Black Market in Germany to make HUGE personal fortunes laundered through Switzerland?

@nixthetiger Marshall, as you will discover, was one of the great but relatively unknown figures of US history. There is no more essential figure in WW II and Cold War history than George Catlett Marshall. You might consider looking at the Storycorps website for advice on how to interview your mom about her childhood so you can pass it down.
