MInt who is the horse I started clicker training from scratch in 1994 was in retirement for about 7 yrs. I saw him once in 7 years. He was straight off the trailer from Texas to California. It is fun to see his enthusiasm and how much he remembered. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • Just found your website by way of youtube. So glad that I did!! I think it is fantastic that you offer free advice to people about clicker training :) It's such a fabulous method that everyone should know about. I found out about clicker training a couple years ago and haven't looked back since. The more people that know about clicker training, the more happy horses and owners there will be!! Hope you don't mind if I share a video or two on my facebook clicker group page.

  • @Chance2Click Thank you, it is great to meet you. I couldn't agree more...the more people that know the better! Once a person see the differnece it makes, they are hooked and that of course, is a good thing for everybody. :0) My hope is that one day positive reinforcement will be a regular part of horse training. BTW, I would love for you to share some videos!

  • As a traditional horsewoman turned making-it-up-as-I-go-along, clicker training has had a wonderful effect on the horses. And, just as a personal preference, I love the added "I think" when you said he's excited to be back, because we don't really know what the horse is thinking.

  • @Mirrorinmymindify

I agree with you on both notes. Clicker training really seems to be good for the horses, staring from the inside out. And while it can be a challenge, I try not to assign MY emotions to the horses (or dolphins, whales, etc). We really don't know what they are thinking. I think it can diminish our effectiveness as trainers when we start thinking we do know. Of course I always speculate! This is a hot topic on some discussion boards!

  • Thank you for sharing with the world! I was your average trainer having difficulty with things like trailer loading, backing, etc- Until I discovered a great book about clicker training. I wonder how in the world I ever got along without it! Your horse is amazing and a very motivated boy! Best wishes-

I love sharing this video!! I am glad that you enjoyed watching Mint. Clicker training is so easy and effective but still people have trouble accepting it. It is my mission to get EVERY horse person to recognize the value of the positive reinforcement training. Maybe my goal is a little lofty I have to start somewhere. Actually it has come a long way in my 17 years of trying. Thank you for your comments, very reinforcing!
