  • This is what music is all about........sharing licks & enjoying what's going on. Albert Lee looks like a kid in a lolly shop, so happy to in the company of his heros.

The great James Burton wrote the textbook for rock guitar. How eagerly we awaited his playing behind Rick Nelson which occurred at the end of each episode of "The Nelsons".

  • Yep, and Albert Lee is one of the heroes standing there a'playin, too!

  • Wow.

  • @JolleyRick And for a little while in the late 80's he played with Jerry Lee Lewis.

  • @mortgagerep And then went and joined "The Hot Band" with Emmylou.

    Rick Jolley

  • @RasMajnouni

Burton was Dale Hawkins' lead guitarist. That's him playing on Suzie Q. He left Dale Hawkins to play behind Ricky Nelson

  • @RasMajnouni What a great CV to have. He was also Emmy Lou Harris' guitarist for a couple of years. He was also the first guitar player to bend notes up a full tone. He couldn't do it using conventional strings at that time......so he substituted banjo strings.

Elvis was Burton's biggest fan & loved listening to James' solos.

  • @tunefultony James Burton was regular lead guitarist for 3 great musicians who died very young.First Ricky Nelson RIP,then Elvis RIP finally Gram Parsons RIP.

  • @obamabasher1 Ricky played with Emmy Lou for a while, too

  • Im pretty sure james burton and glenn cambell were in a group on the patty dike show once, definitely showing my age.

  • When us pickers cross over, God willing, this is the section of Heaven I want to be in! FRANK JAMES.

  • GUITAR HEAVEN
