  • The Pretty Things are better than the Stones, because the Pretty Things never did a disco record.

  • Whilst The Stones & The Pretty Things careers ended up worlds apart, initially they were both doing R&B based sets, in the early 60s.

I think this is a tougher & wilder R&B track than anything the Stones did early in their career....& to say Midnight to Six Man is a Stones rip-off is ridiculous. Both Rosalyn & Midnight to Six Man give The Stones a run for their money.

I'm not sure the public & TV & Radio stations were ready for Rosalyn to be a number one single......a bit to wild! Cool!

  • my name is Rosalyn.(: all middle school i hated my name cuz they couldnt pronounce it right and i just felt like it was wierd but now that im in high school i love it. all my teachers call me Rosalyn instead of Rosa. and my friends are even getting used to that . :D lol

I agree. The Pretty Things recorded almost no garbage in the 70's (Onion Soup and a couple Electric Banana songs) and none at all in the 80's (Cross Talk and the unreleased songs are as flawless as can be.) I don't even count Tonight because it was a cover imposed on the band that led to Phil May leaving the group, and it never appeared on an album. On top of that Balboa Island is better than anything The Stones have made in 30 years, or maybe around 40 years.

  • I had the first 2 albums, all the EPs and singles - cost me a fortune in those days. They set fire to a stage in New Zealand - were deported - hence - didn't make it to Australia. CUNTS! (But I love 'em still.)

  • Heard Bowie's cover first.....and I think I like it better.

  • @galaxyrock who are you kidding man- the pretty things recorded lots of garbage in the 70s and 80s

  • @galaxyrock "Tonight"?..

  • Your Parents might let you Marry a Rolling Stone...

but they would never, ever let you date a Pretty Thing

  • i love this song
