is this Realflow or one of the Maya particle FX? It looks fabulous - in particular your decision to time freeze the splash adds a great deal to the overall look.
I'm in the middle of producing high resolution meshes from Realflow 5 then importing to Cinema 4D R12 - 27 hours and probably another 12 to go...that's just the meshes...
