项定秀 - Mim Haam

I thought she retired, but it's good to see that she's still performing. I don't know why it's so hard to find any information on her, even a simple biography and what not is almost impossible to come across. Video was taken sometime summer 2011 if you guys are curious when it happened.

The problem with Hmong American singers is that they don't practice opera singing so they can NEVER sing like this. Sad.

@hmongmncom actually chinese (opera) singing and western (opera) singing are totally different, the only slight similarities would be when a singer has to sing the F above middle C and beyond. So even if we wanted to learn how to sing like her it would be very hard to find an instructor that can comfortably teach the right techniques to sing how Mim Hamm does without completely destroying our vocal chords. But then again not many people enjoy listening to opera so there's no incentive to learn.

Mim Haam is awesome. I agree that it's so hard to find any info on her. Maybe it's because I don't know how to read chineses.
