Capt. Cook was killed because he came in the months of festival to Maui. Hawaiians believed that he was a god because he came on a huge ship all in whitem, so they killed him and ate him. They believed if they ate him they would all become gods. In Hawaiian history if you eat your enemy you take their "Mana" or srtength of their soul.

@BanchiArts Not probably not found in the Bishop Museum. Or probably because "Bishop". Some other guy who is trying to help hide it

Respond to this video... Also America was just trying to sugarcake it 6:40 does not tell who the "commercial interest" was from it was trying to make it sound like Native Hawaii itself wanted it. Wrong again. That is the problem with many Americans especially the leading ones. They try to look good. They also don't like to admit when they are wrong. Look, I have nothing against Americans I am one (yeah I know your thinking "yeah right"). Remember I said SOME.

@98bigbutt Why don't you go get a history book (not American) and read or ask a Hawaiian teacher (that is not American). Also it is not fully NOT FULLY Americas fault. It was mostly the retarded businessmen. But America still helped. The reason I said do not look in an American history book is because this is what it will probably would say (this is from looking at a lot of books). "American culture was so much the people overthrew the queen at the time". Word for word from a book.

@FansFiltration I just looked at the "goddess". You acting stupid now. How manini you want to get trying to gas this guy over something so small. That image could be any Kamehameha wahine graduates from what I can tell.
-
@FansFiltration Relax it's only a couple of minutes of video. Make your own video and make it correct if you want. Then you can be as "correct" as you want.

i live in hawaii but am from mainland and my parents are from lebanon. i can imagine what it's like to live somewhere you know your blood had been for hundreds of years. i went to lebanon once. it was a really amazing feeling, knowing my history and i wish i lived there..even tho there is violence and poverty. hawaiians should know their history bc the feeling i have about lebanon is such a mighty feeling.
The French was in the far southern part of the pacific...Tahiti..Samoa ...but the British and Spaniards are really the first to do much of the exploring of the unknown world.

Sadly this is only half true. I was looking for a video to refresh on all I've studied in my Hawaiian history class here in Hawai'i before hitting the books for finals, and I find myself cringing at the misinformation. I don't feel this truly depicts facts. Furthermore, there is no mention of missionaries, who were a huge influence in Hawai'i...

@notadolphin The video was not meant to answer in depth questions or be a final statement of Hawaiian History. It was just meant to spark an interest into the history of Hawaii. Information in this video was found in the Bishop's museum. Although the graphics are new the content has not been altered. My focus was more on the harbor and geology then political aspects. thanks
