Seth spent an hour with the members of Oklahoma Atheists as the evening's featured speaker. In his presentation entitled "The Shell Game," he addresses the doubles standards and parlor tricks Christianity and other religious use to justify often contradictory, immoral and often ridiculous behavior.

The venue was very dark, and as a result, the video footage isn't optimal. Thanks for your patience.

  • I consider myself an apathetic agnostic .... but this cult of atheism you guys have got going is starting to seem a lot like a religion!

  • @0111001101100001 I wouldn't wear "I'm apathetic" as a virtue.

  • @TheThinkingAtheist Apathetic about issues regarding life after death and religion, not in my attitudes towards life in general, if that wasn't obvious from my post.

  • @0111001101100001 Apathy towards religion is part of the reason it prevails in cultures worldwide, indoctrinating children and permeating political platforms.

I guarantee you, the theocracies aren't practicing apathy. They seek to mold the planet in their image. Let's all move towards lives of action to stem the tide. :)

  • @Buck2120 Well I wasn't trying to say atheist zealots are as bad or destructive as Muslim or Christian radicals. But a zealot is a zealot, no matter how harmless. The basic problem with the world is not religion it's peoples inability to tolerate differences.

  • @buck2120 don't try to act like religious people are the problem when they aren't following their religion correctly... "love your neighbor as yourself" "forgive your enemies" etc and pretend that atheists are saints! Jeffrey dalhmer and the kids who did the columbine shootings were ATHEISTS who said since natural selection was the law of the land and "since theres no one to judge our actions, since people are just animals why not kill?". Ye shall be judged.

  • @0111001101100001 Christian zealots attack abortion providers and try to eradicate gay rights, Muslim zealots fly planes into buildings and commit suicidal bomb attacks in crowded streets, atheist zealots write books and make YouTube videos about the former zealots. That's the truth. There is no such thing as atheist zealots. That's a lie from religious scum.

  • @Alkhemist10 Can you taste the bullshit as you speak it, troll?

  • Great video!

  • 3. The philosophical adept, who, knowing God, says “There is No God,” meaning, “God is Zero,” as qabalistically He is. He holds atheism as a philosophical speculation as good as any other, and perhaps less likely to mislead mankind and do other practical damage as any other. Him you may know by his equanimity, enthusiasm, and devotion.

  • 2. The despairing wretch, who, having sought God everywhere, and failed to find Him, thinks everyone else is as blind as he is, and that if he has failed—he, the seeker after truth!—it is because there is no goal. In his cry there is pain, as with the stupid kind of atheist there is smugness and self-satisfaction. Both are diseased Egos.

  • Atheists are of three kinds:

The mere stupid man. He has found out one of the minor arcana, and hugs it and despises those who see more than himself, or who regard things from a different standpoint. Hence he is usually a bigot, intolerant even of tolerance.

  • He sounds like Jack Nicholson.
