  • was it raining?

  • yes, it was reigning and the dynasty did not survive the onslaught of ignorance

  • I see what you did there.

  • And I am privileged to share interest in such historical footage with folks who care. Thanks for checking it out. I hope we all can find and celebrate more of the same.

  • @shoegazer666

The last song they play (@ 2:00) is an old standard called 'Rain'- hence the' rain special effect'.

  • That is a wonderful addition of information to this video. I would have liked to have heard Bill's commentary on the videographic treatment of that tune now that I know the title. Bill Hodges was a truly great lead trumpet player and a wonderful character, he surely would have had somthing to say about all of this. Most likely he would have told me to shut it up and keep quiet and not bother people with this stuff from the past. I only wish I had more to bother folks with.

  • Bill Hodges was my father. He died in 2003. I am thrilled to see someone put these videos up. I can not thank you enough for doing so. Sincerely, Chris Hodges

  • @tadd1 PLease don't stop bothering us with that "stuff" I was in the band system in the 50s and 60s and feel very nostalgic about those days.Anyway, like other "notes" this is a great band.

Is that an Olds Recording he's playing?

  • whats that song at the very beggining with the trombone???

  • What is the song in the beginning that introduces Bill Hodges and Leo?

  • thanks bro!

    The more you know~
